Resetting a password

CSS User

  1. The user must sign the ADP Suspended UserID Reset Request log, verifying that the user is responsible for the suspension of the User ID.
  2. From a blank screen on ADP, type the following command and hit <Enter>:

    TSS REM(V022xxxx) SUSPEND

  3. (Replacing the x's with the last four digits of the user's ID)

  4. If the user needs a temporary password (e.g. if the user suspended the ID in the process of changing a password and doesn't know what ADP thinks the password is anymore), assign one with the following command:

    TSS ADD(V022xxx) PASS(newpass,30,exp)

In the above example, newpass is the temporary password. Another password (seven or eight characters) can be substituted.

Correspondent User

If Top Secret Security is enabled at the user's location, use the CSS USER instructions. If not...

  1. From a blank screen in ADP, type secm. This brings you to the Sign-In Monitor screen.
  2. Hit enter to see all invalid sign-ons for the current day. Or, change the date in the "FROM DATE" field to see invalid sign-ons for a longer period of time.
  3. At the beginning of the line that states the ID in question has been suspended, enter r (for reset). ADP resets the password.
