"When I despair, I remember that all through history, the way of truth and love has always won. There have been murderers and tyrants, and for a time they can seem invincible. But in the end they always fall. Think of it, always."
(M. K. Gandhi)
Like millions of New Yorkers "I was there." Like tens of thousands I was evacuated from the site (not the complex itself, where I was headed, but from two blocks away). I managed to stay out of harm's way -- physically, at least.
As therapy, I spent the first four days or so after September 11 writing down what I experienced.
In the following months I followed with near-obsession the related news and posted links to my "fresh stuff" page. You'll find most of that in September and October. In late January I moved the September 11 things from the page of general postings to its own home, here.
I don't plan to update this page on a regular basis -- my everyday posts (including things relating to Sept 11) will continue to appear on the general page.
