Petrikov is the town closest to Snyadin and has an open-air market every weekend.
Some of us ventured to the banya in Petrikov to have a traditional Russian steam bath. While in town we also made phone calls back to the United States, mailed post cards and letters, indulged in ice cream and Coke, and paid visits to Valentina Sergevna's aunt.
Valentina and some of the Russians on the crew would also pick up our food supplies for the week.
